Structure of the Academic Year
The College year is divided into two semesters. The first semester begins on the fourth Monday in February and consists of fourteen teaching weeks (thirteen teaching weeks for Fourth Year and Masters courses). The second semester begins in mid July and consists of thirteen teaching weeks followed by a week of 'study vacation' and two weeks of exams. Each semester is made up of two terms normally separated by a break of two weeks.
Summer 'intensives' are held in February each year. Incoming first year students engage in three weeks of orientation and language study. Students entering second year attend a two-week course in Hebrew and a one-day course on text criticism. Students entering fourth year normally attend a two-day Congregational Ministry `intensive'.
Registration for returning students takes place in the week before the first semester. At this time all students are expected to register and all except those on a student visa are required to register and pay fees for the coming semester.
