CMD’s Developing Rector Program Boot Camp Equips New Rectors
Moore College’s Centre for Ministry Development’s Developing Rector Program Boot Camp was held earlier this year. The two-year Developing Rector Program was designed specifically for newly installed Rectors to help them understand their new role and equip them through this extraordinary transition in ministry.
At the Boot Camp led by Rick Smith, Raj Gupta and Peter Mayrick, a group of new rectors gathered together to learn and discuss how to lead their ministries more effectively.
The new rectors found the Boot Camp helpful and valuable to their day to day work needs. All of them agreed that it is a workshop worth recommending to others, as one rector said it was “definitely beneficial in starting out in the new role as rector” and another said, “the quality was exceptional, varied learning styles embraced, and I appreciated others in the cohort”.
Rev. Archie Poulos, the founding director of CMD said
“29 clergy from all corners of the Diocese have participated in 3 cohorts to date. Helping to develop rectors was one of the drivers in establishing CMD, as moving into this role requires such a different and more finely nuanced set of skills than ministers have previously required. I am so excited by the quality and appreciation of the course. It is great news for clergy, churches and the growth of God’s kingdom.”
