Moore’s CCL Presents – How to Find Your Best Self
Who are we? How can we find our best self? There has been much speculation throughout history. At our first Centre for Christian Living (CCL) event for 2017, we will learn from the 20th century’s most famous Christian martyr, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, about personal aspiration.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer is well known among Christians for his book The Cost of Discipleship and for the manner of his death—executed in the last days of World War II for his part in a conspiracy against Hitler. He is perhaps the 20th century’s most famous Christian martyr. Amid all Bonhoeffer’s work on the nature of community and the ethical life, few subjects were more important than his writing about the ‘self’—that is, the perennial human question of who we really are and who we long to be.
David Höhne and Tony Payne will discuss Bonhoeffer’s extraordinary Christ-centred answers to these basic human aspirations, and show their relevance to our Christian life.
When: Wednesday 8 March 7:30-9:30pm
Where: Moore College, 1 King St, Newtown
Speakers: David Höhne and Tony Payne
