Second Cohort of Developing Rectors Program Launched

In March, Moore College’s Centre for Ministry Development (CMD) launched the Developing Rectors Program – a program to equip new Rectors across the Diocese with training and orientation in their new role.

The program includes a two-year curriculum and the provision of Mentors to work beside them during the two years, to support them to more effectively live out Christ’s mission to our suburbs. It is led by Rick Smith, CMD Consultant and supported by Raj Gupta, Senior Minister of Toongabbie Anglican Church, and Peter Mayrick, Acting Co-Director of CMD.

“The shift to being a Rector is such a large change for clergy. We believe that the Developing Rector Program is a significant opportunity for our Diocese to help Rectors start their new role well. We would appreciate your prayers for those involved,” said Mr Mayrick.

12 new Rectors from all regions of the Diocese joined the program in March as the first cohort. Last week we have launched the second cohort with another 10 new Rectors, including 2 bishops Ivan Lee, Peter Lin and Phil Wheeler, Director of Evangelism and New Churches.

If you would like to join the next cohort or find out more please email info@cmd.training.
