Part-time study at Moore College is either one or more units (subjects) per semester. Completing first-year in part-time mode may require some daytime study. Some units can be studied during the day, evening or as a combination of these modes of study. For more information, please contact us directly.

Advanced Diploma of Bible, Mission and Ministry

Full-time: 1 year  | Part-time study available

The Advanced Diploma gives students an opportunity to choose between strands of specialisation.
The specialisations include mission, lay ministry, women’s ministry and music ministry.

Diploma of Biblical Theology (DBT)

Full-time: 1 year  | Online | Part-time study available
  AQF Level: 5

The Diploma of Biblical Theology (DBT) is designed to provide foundational theological training for the many lay people with ministry responsibilities. Examples include Bible Study Leaders, Sunday School Teachers, Youth Group Leaders and Lay Preachers.

The Diploma of Biblical Theology comprises of eight units of study. There are three core units – Biblical Theology, Gospel of Mark and Church History. The remaining five units are selected from a range of electives to suit one’s ministry needs.

Bachelor of Divinity (BD)

Full-time: 4 years  | First year available part-time

The Bachelor of Divinity (BD) is our central award. It is a four-year degree designed for men and women who desire a biblical and theological foundation for full-time Christian ministry. The first year only is available part-time. The first three years of the BD are the same as the Bachelor of Theology (BTh). The fourth year of study draws together the knowledge and skills learnt in the first three years. In Year 4 you can also choose from a range of enriching specialist electives.

A current Working With Children Check is required of all Moore College students.

The Bachelor of Theology (BTh) is designed for men and women who choose to graduate after three years of study. It is fully nested within the Bachelor of Divinity (BD) and consists of all units of the first three years of the BD. The first year only is available part-time.

Master of Theology (MTh)

The Master of Theology (MTh) is a postgraduate research award and is aimed at specifically equipping graduates for future teaching ministries.  Students undertake study primarily in one of the following fields:

  • Biblical Studies (New Testament, Old Testament, Biblical Theology)
  • Christian Thought (Systematic Theology, Historical Theology, Church History, Ethics and Philosophy)
  • Christian Ministry (Mission, Apologetics, Christian Worship).

Master of Arts (Theology) (MA Theol)

Full-time: 2 years | Part-time: 2 – 6 years

The Master of Arts (Theology) program is aimed at providing continuing education in theology for graduates in full-time ministry. Students in the program are assumed to be building on the knowledge and skills they developed in the Bachelor of Divinity (BD) program, or its equivalent.

Accordingly, MA (Theol) students are expected to demonstrate in their work, the range of skills appropriate to superior Level III undergraduate students.

Mode of Delivery


Part-time students in the degree or diploma programs can choose to enrol in day or night classes or a combination of both in one or more units. Detailed descriptions and current timetable of all units for part-time study can be found here.

We are committed to studying in the context of community and so students who study part-time are encouraged to attend chapel services and lunch in the dining room on the days they are at College for classes.


The Master of Arts (Theology) is a coursework masters program that is offered in intensive mode, usually two, three-day blocks per semester. Students can choose to do one or more units per semester and have six years to complete the course.

All classes are held at Newtown and are taught face-to-face.

The Master of Theology is a research masters program that can be undertaken part-time and students have six years to complete the course. It consists of a number of pathways options and requires 25,000-50,000-word thesis.

It is the responsibility of the student to organise regularly meetings with their supervisor.
